H.E. Faure GNASSINGBE Meets President of EBID
As part of initial working visits to ECOWAS Member States, the President of the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID), Dr. George Agyekum Nana Donkor, met with His Excellency Faure Gnassingbe at the Presidency in Lomé, on 10th March 2020.
Fielding questions from reporters after the meeting, Dr. Donkor said that the purpose of the visit was firstly, to express the Bank’s appreciation to Togo for its unflinching support to the institution and also congratulate His Excellency Faure Gnassingbe on his re-election as President of the Republic during the recently concluded general elections, and also pledged to support the country’s development agenda especially, the emphasis on infrastructure development, education and social amenities which are in line with the priority areas of EBID interventions in Member States.
Dr. George Agyekum Nana Donkor assumed duty as President of EBID on 1st February 2020 following his appointment by the Board of Governors of the Bank comprising Ministers of Finance and Economic Planning of the fifteen (15) ECOWAS Member States namely, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Cote d’Ivoire, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea Conakry, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo; during their 9th Extraordinary Session held on 13th January 2020 in Lomé, Togolese Republic.
