Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. George Agyekum Donkor

The 69th meeting of the Board of Directors of EBID was held via zoom on September 30, 2020.
Two (2) projects were approved for financing. The first was a private sector project specifically, a line of credit in the amount of Fifty Million United States dollars (US$50m) for Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG) Ltd, to enhance its capacity to support the work of road construction companies in the country and contribute to providing the much needed medium to long term funding from the private sector to supplement Government’s efforts in the financing of road infrastructure.

Apart from improving the availability of resources for the development of the sector in Ghana, the line of credit from EBID is expected to create about seven hundred and fifty (750) direct jobs and over four hundred (400) indirect jobs in the road sector, all of which are outcomes that resonate with priority areas of EBID activities.

The second project approved was co-financing for a public sector project in Cote d’Ivoire, in the amount of Thirteen Million and Five Thousand Euros (€13.005m) relating to the acquisition of two (2) King Air 350 ER aircrafts for Cote d’Ivoire, equipped for maritime and territorial remote surveillance. The vessels will also enhance the country’s search and rescue (SAR) missions, and generally optimize border and maritime security.
