Tamia ADJOUMANI has been serving Acting Director of Control and Compliance at the ECOWAS Investment and Development Bank (EBID) since January 2026. A business lawyer and seasoned specialist in banking compliance, she has 28 years of professional experience, including 25 entirely dedicated to EBID, a leading financial institution in West Africa.

In her current position, she is responsible for the strategic management of the monitoring and compliance department. She notably leads the operationalization of this new department and the implementation of the EBID’s integrity mechanism.

Holder of a Master’s degree in Business Law from the Robert Schuman University in Strasbourg (France) following a Bachelor in Business Law from the University of Maine (France). Prior to joining EBID, she gained practical professional experience in the private banking and telecommunications sectors.

She contributed to the diligences for the establishment of the ECOWAS Regional Investment Bank (ERIB), the private subsidiary of the former EBID group, as well as   the institutional reform that led to the transformation of EBID onto a singles tructure institution.

She ensured the prevention of the Bank’s legal risks in its day-to-day operations and in the preparation and financing of projects, and supervised the management of cases in legal disputes while simultaneously holding the position of Head of Legal Division and acting Head of Litigation Division.

In charge of compliance since 2013, Tamia ADJOUMANI has contributed to the drafting of numerous key internal procedures of the Bank and has played a key role in building the culture of compliance and integrity that characterizes EBID today.
