Dr Mory Soumahoro

Dr Mory SOUMAHORO has more than thirty years of professional experience in the fields of public finance, market finance and corporate finance.
During his rich professional career, he has participated in the structuring and implementation of several resource mobilization operations on regional and international financial markets on behalf of the States of Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya and Ghana, as well as public and private companies, for a cumulative total amount of nearly 20,000 billion FCFA (about 36 billion USD).
Prior to his appointment as EBID’s Vice-President of Risks, he held the position of Technical Advisor to the Minister for Finance and Budget of Côte d’Ivoire, where he was mainly in charge of resource mobilization issues for external financing of the State’s budget and treasury, as well as public debt management. He also chaired from 2021 to 2023 the Support Fund for Large Companies Impacted by the COVID -19 Crisis (FSGE-COVID-19) with a budget of 100 billion FCFA (about 181 million USD).
Prior to this position, he headed the WAMU Financial Markets Regulatory Authority (CREPMF) from 2013 to 2018, where he led several reforms, including the change of name of the CREPMF to the WAMU Financial Markets Authority (AMF-UMOA), the implementation of the WAMU regional financial market risk mapping and the introduction of new financial products such as SUKUK.
In addition, he served as President of the ECOWAS Association of Financial Market Regulators (WASRA) from 2015 to 2018.
Dr Mory SOUMAHORO holds a Ph.D. in Finance from the International School of Management in New York (USA) and the International Faculty Program (IFP) of the IESE Business School in Barcelona, a Diploma in Financial Expertise in Investment Fund Management, accredited by the American Financial Markets Regulatory Authority (FINRA), which he obtained from the Institute of Business and Finance in California (USA) and a master’s degree in Development Economics from the University of North Florida (USA).
Since 2012, he has been a Consular Judge at the Commercial Court of Abidjan (TCA).
