The agreement was signed by Dr. George Agyekum Donkor, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of EBID, and Mr. Diakarya Ouattara, Managing Director of Coris Holding SA, in the presence of senior officials from both institutions.

The financing will enable Coris Holding SA to support projects and activities across the food, energy, and agricultural value chains, contributing to the sustainable economic development of the sub-region. Through its banking network, Coris Holding plays a leading role in financing the economies of the countries in which it operates, particularly in support of businesses, SMEs, and SMIs. This credit facility will strengthen the refinancing and lending capacity of the Group’s banking subsidiaries, enabling them to provide greater support to the productive sector, value creation, job generation, and more inclusive economic growth.

Speaking on the significance of the agreement, Dr Donkor stated that the transaction went beyond a financing arrangement and reflected the shared confidence of the partners in African institutions, as well as their commitment to strengthening the private sector as a catalyst for economic transformation across West Africa. He pointed out that, through its partnership with Coris Holding, EBID was expanding access to long-term finance for SMEs and productive sectors, thereby supporting regional integration, job creation, and sustainable prosperity.

Welcoming the partnership, Mr Ouattara described the agreement as an important milestone in Coris Holding’s ambition to deepen its contribution to financing West African economies. He explained that the credit facility would enhance the capacity of the Group’s subsidiaries to support businesses and economic actors that create value and drive sustainable growth across the region.

Through this transaction, EBID reaffirms its role as a catalyst for regional private sector financing by mobilising resources for investments with strong economic and social impact. The operation is fully aligned with the implementation of the Bank’s GRO (Growth, Resilience and Optimisation) Strategy, which seeks to accelerate resilient, inclusive, and sustainable regional growth through enhanced support for productive sectors and key economic actors driving regional integration.

The ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) and Coris Holding SA signed a €80 million financing agreement on 30 July 2026 at EBID’s headquarters in Lomé, Republic of Togo, to strengthen financing for the productive sector across West Africa.
