The commitment underscores EBID\u2019s accelerated drive to finance transformative projects and deepen regional economic integration.<\/p>\n<p>The Board of Governors comprises the Ministers of Finance and, in some cases, Ministers of Planning and Development of the fifteen West African countries. Also attending the meeting where two portfolio Ministers from the Alliance of Sahel States (AES), namely Burkina Faso and Niger thus reaffirming their collective commitment to advancing the Bank\u2019s mission, strategic vision, and regional development mandate.<\/p>\n<p>Honourable Seth Terkper, Presidential Advisor and former Minister of Finance of the Republic of Ghana, opened the meeting on behalf of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Ghana, reiterating Ghana\u2019s steadfast support for EBID\u2019s role in fostering sustainable economic progress and resilience across the subregion.<\/p>\n<p>The Board of Governors, which is the highest decision-making body of the Bank, endorsed the Bank\u2019s new five\u2011year strategic plan: the\u00a0<strong>Growth \u2013 Resilience \u2013 Optimisation (GRO) Strategy for 2026\u20132030<\/strong>, designed to position the Bank as a leading financial institution of the subregion, committed to addressing the region\u2019s socio\u2011economic challenges while enhancing operational impact. The strategy will guide EBID\u2019s interventions in infrastructure, agriculture, energy, and digital transformation, with a strong emphasis on climate resilience and private sector engagement.<\/p>\n<p>The President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of EBID, Dr. George Agyekum Donkor, paid glowing tribute to the outgoing Chairman of the Board of Governors and Minister of Finance of the Republic of Ghana, Dr Ato Baah Forson, acknowledging his impactful leadership, strategic foresight, and steadfast commitment which have positioned EBID as a key driver of sustainable development in our region. \u201cWe are deeply grateful for the dedication displayed by Honourable Dr Ato Forson and the progress achieved under his guidance\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Donkor also presented the Bank\u2019s impressive financial and operational performance for the 2025 fiscal year, highlighting the Bank\u2019s readiness to deliver on the investment commitment and the ambitious goals of the new strategy.<\/p>\n<p>The Board also unanimously appointed\u00a0Honourable Isma\u00ebl Nab\u00e9, Minister of Planning, Development, and International Cooperation of the Republic of Guinea, as the new Chairman of the EBID Board of Governors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Board of Governors of the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) concluded its 24th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Accra, Ghana, on April 8, 2026, with a strong determination and commitment to deploy\u00a0incremental investments\u00a0across the West African region in the next five years.
