The Bank displayed this dedication by donating classroom furniture, computer equipment and books during a ceremony organized by La Matrice NGO at the Groupe Scolaire Plateau de Bingerville in Abidjan, Cote d\u2019Ivoire on March 20, 2024. EBID extended another FCFA 50 million to support other infrastructure initiatives of the school trough the NGO La Matrice.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-277125\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bidc-ebid.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/NGO_Matrice_Abidjan_2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bidc-ebid.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/NGO_Matrice_Abidjan_2.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.bidc-ebid.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/NGO_Matrice_Abidjan_2-300x188.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.bidc-ebid.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/NGO_Matrice_Abidjan_2-768x480.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.bidc-ebid.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/NGO_Matrice_Abidjan_2-530x331.jpg 530w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>While presenting the items, the President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of EBID, Dr. George Agyekum Donkor emphasized the importance of training students for today\u2019s technology driven-workplace.\u00a0 Recalling previous donations, including the construction of a wall to ensure student safety at the school in 2021, he underscored the role of education in the fight against poverty, which is core to the Bank\u2019s mandate.<\/p>\n<p>The donation in C\u00f4te d&#8217;Ivoire is part of EBID\u2019s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy, which aims to improve the quality of life for Communities in the ECOWAS sub-region by supporting activities aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-277127\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bidc-ebid.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/NGO_Matrice_Abidjan_3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bidc-ebid.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/NGO_Matrice_Abidjan_3.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.bidc-ebid.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/NGO_Matrice_Abidjan_3-300x188.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.bidc-ebid.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/NGO_Matrice_Abidjan_3-768x480.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.bidc-ebid.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/NGO_Matrice_Abidjan_3-530x331.jpg 530w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The President of EBID was accompanied by the Bank\u2019s Vice-President in charge of Risk and Controls, Dr. Mory Soumahoro, for the ceremony, which included the Mayor of and Sub-Prefect of Bingerville as well as other community leaders and officials.
