Mr. Anthony Ehimare is the Director, Risk Management Department of The ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID). He joined the bank in February 2020.

He is an international banking and finance executive with over two decade of international banking experience and more than 14 years in leadership roles spanning Operations, Credit Risk, Operational Risk and Control, Enterprise Risk Management, Fraud Management, and Regulatory Compliance.

He was a Vice president, Risk Management at HSBC in New York, the United States from 2017. He started his career in Citibank Nigeria in July 1999 before moving to Citibank New York in 2007 to take up various roles including the implementation of strong framework that ensured consistency in the application of policies and best practices across various functions and departments. Before joining HSBC as a Vice President, in April 2017, He had worked in Ecobank Transnational Inc., the largest Pan-African Bank in Africa, where he was at various times, Country Head, Special Assets; the Business Head, credit Risk and portfolio Management, (Business CRO) Corporate Bank Group and the Head, Group Risk and Control. He was also part of a group responsible for the comprehensive transformation of risk management that helped Ecobank Transnational Inc. become a stronger, safer organization and one of the best capitalized banks in Africa

Anthony graduated with a Bachelor and Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Buffalo School of Management, New York. He is a member of the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) New York Chapter, a member of the Professional Risk Manager International Association (PRMIA) New York Chapter and member of The Risk Management Association New York Chapter. He served on the Board of Trustees for the HSBC African Heritage employee Group – Upstate New York in 2019.
