The mobilisation of financial resources is of capital importance to EBID, as it is only through this process that the Bank can give the required impetus to its operational activities and adequately accomplish the mission entrusted to it in terms of contributing to the development and integration of Community Member States through the financing of development projects and programmes defined by the latter.
These are major tasks that EBID must implement partly because of the Bank's level of commitments, and the financing required by priority programmes of ECOWAS and NEPAD, including the projects and programmes of each of the fifteen ECOWAS Member States.
The 2007-2011 EBID Strategic Plan presents the following provisional programme of granting assistance:

From 2007 to 2011 EBID plans to give new direct loans and guarantees amounting to UA832.57 million, or roughly 1 276.96 million US dollars, for projects and programmes within its purview. The implementation of these plans will increase the Bank's accumulated commitments to over UA1017.53 million, or roughly 1 560.61 million US Dollars at the end of 2011.
