A new President at the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID)

 nouveau président de la BIDC The 6th Extraordinary Meeting of the Board of Governors of the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) took place on Monday, 10th October, 2011 at the La-Palm Royal Beach Hotel, Accra (Ghana), under the chairmanship of Honourable Dr Kwabena DUFFUOR, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning of the Republic of Ghana, current Chairman of the Board of Governors of EBID.

Prior to the deliberations, the opening ceremony was marked by speeches, respectively delivered by Mr Bashir M. IFO, Acting President of EBID and, Honourable Dr Kwabena DUFFUOR, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning of the Republic of Ghana, current Chairman of the Board of Governors of EBID.

The agenda was adopted as presented. The Board first of all adopted the minutes of its 9th Ordinary meeting held in Accra (Ghana) at the same hotel on 20th May, 2011.

After considering the matters arising as well as the status of execution of the tasks assigned, the Board listened attentively to the presentation on the resource mobilization strategy by the Vice-President in charge of Operations, Mr Ernest D. KOMENAN.

The Board also examined and approved the memorandum on the increase of the authorized capital and on the call-up of the second tranche of the capital of the Bank.

The Board of Governors thereafter appointed the Vice-President, Finance and Corporate Services, Mr Bashir M. IFo who had been the Acting President of the Bank since the early departure of Mr Christian N. ADOVELANDE, former President of EBID whose tenure was expected to come to an end in June,2011, as new President of the Bank.

At the end of the meeting, the Governors expressed their heartfelt gratitude to His Excellency John Evans ATTA-MILLS, President of the Republic of Ghana, Head of State, as well as to the Government and people of Ghana for their warm hospitality and for the excellent facilities placed at their disposal to ensure the success of their deliberations.
